The ground work has begun by our contractors, Waiotahi, as we begin to build the first 15 Affordable Rentals, scheduled for completion by March 2025, with a further 58 homes in the pipeline.
We are grateful to those who have supported with their funding, knowledge and expertise in this space.
The project includes 8 one-bedroom kaumātua units, 5 two-bedroom units, and two three-bedroom units at 15 Golf Links Road.
This project is an important step towards reducing the financial burden on these houses’ occupants and supporting a home ownership transition.
Te Tohu o Te Ora o Ngāti Awa is thrilled to collaborate with Waiotahi Construction in creating pathways for local Rangatahi in civil construction, fostering a partnership aimed at generating positive community-wide impacts. We are committed to providing on-the-job training, accredited qualifications through Connexis, and a supportive working environment where individuals can acquire practical skills while earning.
This initiative offers an entry point into the construction industry, enabling individuals to progress and advance within the field.
