On the 2nd September three new staff were welcomed with a mihi whakatau at Te Whare Tapere by Te Tohu o Te Ora o Ngāti Awa. Manuhiri came from Mahitahi in Tamaki Makaurau supporting their former Manager Rachel Morris no Ngāi Taiwhakaea, Ngāti Awa who takes up her new role as Health Manager. Rachel has a nursing background in both hospital and community environments with an extensive managerial background in executive management. Euanake Heretama and Ashley Simpson were also welcomed t the Family Start team. Eunake is of Cook Island / Tongan descent. She graduated with a Bachelor in Social Work and has four tamariki. Ashley Simpson is of Ngāti Awa and Tūhoe descent. She graduated in 2018 and previously worked in our early childhood centre Te Waipuna Ariki o Matangireia.
